Elections:
The Election
Commission of India since 1996 have been making special arrangements for migrants
for participating in the electoral process outside the constituency. The migrants
can exercise their franchise either through postal ballot or through EVMs at special
polling stations.
For Assembly Elections
2008, Election Commission of India vide their
notification
declared scheme for Kashmiri migrants to vote in person at transitory camps and
by postal ballot.
The response of
the migrants in participating in the electoral process in General Assembly elections
2008 was encouraging as compared to the earlier elections.

Revision of
Electoral rolls:
In view of the provisions of election Commission of India, the revision of electoral
rolls is a continuous process. Migrants can submit the relevant
Form No. 6,Form No. 7 or
Form 8 respectively for inclusion,
deletion or correction of name in the electoral roll with the office of the AERO
(Migrants), Relief Organisation,
